Bureaucracy ExampleThe term bureaucracy generally refers to a structured system within a government or an organization that is meant to help manage internal and external procedures and functions. It is a term used almost every day by the average Joe since we are always confronted with it in almost any occasion.
Bureaucracy is actually responsible for the well-being of a structured organization in terms of functionality and actions that need to be thought of, decided and implemented in order to achieve complete organizational balance and overall success. To put it more bluntly bureaucracy is responsible for making an organized structural system that a company can use for its internal activities as well as those with the public.
To give an example of bureaucracy, when put in the situation of waiting in line at the DMV, you must fill out a form. After reading what that particular initial form is about, you may receive another form to complete that will take you to another counter in order to sign on a document or pick up something and return to the first counter where you receive another form. For the most part bureaucracy becomes bulky and inefficient and is often associated with a ton of paperwork and running around trying to find or receive a simple document allowing you to do something.
However there are and have been a few good bureaucratic movements in the world that are simple in nature but still very effective. Some examples of successful bureaucracy include U.C Berkeley or the University of Michigan, the Manhattan Project and, to go a bit farther in history, other examples could be the urban planners of postwar Germany and the Victorian public health commissions as well as the public works.
Some efficient bureaucracy examples do exist however many governments and organizations as well as educational institutions have a lot to work in order to achieve better results.
