Organization Identity

The organization identity, more commonly known as the corporate identity is a concept known is marketing related to the way a company, form or business is seen in the world. The term is closely related to branding and trademarks and manages the view that is presented towards people of the organization for the purpose of marketing.

The identity of a corporation refers to how it is seen and received by the public in terms of what it has to offer. It makes the difference between a successful company and one who fails because it offers the possibility of speaking to the public and offering information about products and services through means of a simple brand or trademark.

For example the corporate title or logo can sometimes tell people what the company is all about or what are the promises made to consumers in terms of what they have to offer. So what is organization identity? It is a way of telling who are the people running the company and what they intend to provide to human kind.

From an internal point of view, the identity of an organization is constructed by those running it. The founders and executive assistants along with the departments of management and marketing come up with a type of behavior and response rate in order to help the organization grow in terms of value for its customers.

When establishing a corporate identity the way clients view that particular company has a direct influence on internal strategies and behavior. The employees are seen in a particular way and since they are always associated with an organization a specific way of thinking and working is implemented. So the identity of a corporation has a great influence over the values and norms that apply to all internal employees of that corporation and the methods used for production.
